Chrome-Hazard-Free, Skydrol-Resistant Epoxy Primer

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings introduces a new chrome-hazard-free epoxy primer (CM0483790), which is a high-performance, two-component, corrosion-inhibitive epoxy primer. It provides outstanding sandability and provides Skydrol resistance in addition to excellent adhesion to treated substrates.

This is also one the most flexible of chrome-hazard-free primers Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings has introduced. This is a key product attribute because with typical aircraft bending, flexing, enlarging and contracting during flight, the flexibility of aircraft coatings are imperative. Recently submitted for AMS 3095 certification, new chrome-hazard-free CM0483790 primer meets all VOC regulations that require a 2.9 pound/gallon VOC primer in aircraft maintenance painting settings.

Another key benefit of the product is that it can be used as both a primer and/or a sanding surfacer. It provides corrosion protection over Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings’ latest wash primer (CM0484646), which is also chromate-hazard free.

In addition, this new primer is designed to work with all Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings topcoats, so aircraft painters can get superior topcoat gloss hold out and increased productivity while delivering a high square foot of coverage per gallon.
