REBTECH NVG Conversion Integrated into Austin Police Department’s New AS350B3e

REBTECH, one the first civil and military aviation night vision lighting providers in the world, announces the initial night vision goggle (NVG) compatible conversion of an AS350B3e recently acquired by the City of Austin Police Department (APD). The addition of this aircraft to the APD Air Support Unit will allow expanded critical support roles such as external load fire suppression, night vision goggle operations, increased passenger and payload capabilities, and other safety enhanced missions.

REBTECH delivered the FAA supplemental type certificated (STC) equipment as well as integration support from its facility located in Bedford, TX, a Dallas/Ft. Worth area suburb. REBTECH supports a worldwide civil and military aviation night vision client base with specialized lighting for rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft in varied and diverse mission profiles. The company also offers 24 hour support for lighting equipment, including repair and spares availability.

The APD Air Support Unit expects to receive its new AS350B3e in August 2013 and will immediately place the aircraft in service providing enhanced airborne law enforcement to Austin and the surrounding Texas communities.
